Hassō kanamonoo (Front metal fittings) for DIY and upgrading your antique or gendai reproduction samurai yoroi (armour). This style of decorative brass fittings were commonly used in Heihan, Edo and Showa era gusoku (matching samurai armor sets). These are ornate “washer” plates, crafted from copper or brass and used for strengthening the hassō byō (domed decorative rivet) and were often gilded.
Keeping with tradition, Iron Mountain Armory has crafted these new hassō kanamonoo (currently only available on the DIY / individual order), these hassō kanamono are designed by hand, molded and then hand cast 1 by 1. This ensures the care, attention and the most detailed ornate design possible, adding a regal embellishment possible for your samurai armor. There are 3 pieces to this set (left, center, right) which are held in by included individual & real hassō byō. It can adorn the shikoro, sode, tare, nodowa, do and/or gessen armor plating. We can make these in alloy, copper, brass, silver plated and even Sterling Silver. They can be slightly bent to shape the curves of your samurai armour parts as needed, by using a small soft hammer over a curved surface. Using byo you can secure each kanamono through the lacing holes in the yoroi.
