Zunari Bachi or “head shaped bowl” helmets were considered to be a type of diverse and robust kabuto design which proved itself in combat. The Taisho katchû-shi (Japanese armor smith) have crafted this beautiful, traditional Hineno Zunari Bachi Kabuto.
Your Hineno Zunari Kabuto was created by hand cutting and riveting 3 different plates to form the hachi (bowl) section of the kabuto, and then hand cut each plate for the shikoro (neck guard). The hineno-jikoro style shikoro is then hand laced in odoshi sugake (simple hang) with care and attention to detail. The ukebari (helmet lining) is carefully fitted to the inside of the hachi (bowl of helmet) to finish the kabuto. You can order your Hineno Zunari Bachi kabuto with your preference of mengu (facial armor), menpo (half face with nose) or hanbo (lower face). The traditional name for this style of kabuto is “Hineno-Jikoro Hineno Zunari Bachi.”
