Mimi-Ito Lace

Kabuto Crest

Select to change, customize or remove the front crest (maedate) on the helmet. You can select a standard brass mon (symbol), your own custom mon / logo or a wooden or brass design. Rivet Option

Select to have your Yoroi crafted WITH or WITHOUT Rivets. Image for reference only.

Add Fittings

Add Fittings to the chest only and/or to the Sode (Shoulders) and back including red ropes & tassels.

Agemaki no Kan

These help keep your sode in place.
Recommended if using armor for any combat training.

Fabric Option

Select the Linen Material or Art. Silk Brocade used for your Armor parts.

Leather Option

Select the synthetic leather color to be used on your HAIDATE or LIGHT SUNEATE.
Kachi Iyo Haidate - Vermilion

Suneate Style

Light Suneate - Better suited for Combat and Martial Arts Training
Heavy Suneate - Better for traditional Cavalry and display

Temper Armor Plates

Select to Heat Temper your steel armor plates to Add more toughness. Your armor will be heated to 700 degrees, making it more resilient and less likely to dent or break upon hard impacts. Best for Martial Arts Training, LARP & SCA Sports.

Display Option

Select to add a yoroi bitsu (display / storage box) and portable stand to your order so you can display your samurai armor.
Yoroi Bitsu and Stand

Yoroi Bitsu Mon

Choose to add Samurai or Custom Mon (symbol) to your Yoroi Bitsu (armor box). Custom Mon's needs to be e-mailed to us in a mono-color, “Clip-Art” format.(Click through the product images to see different Standard Mon Options.)

Kabuto Options

Select these options to further customize your Kabuto (helmet).

Fukigaeshi Mon

Add a symbol (mon) to the ears (fukigaeshi) of your helmet. This can be a standard mon or custom design you can email us in "Clip-Art" format. (Click through the product images to see different Standard Mon Options.)

Horn Options

Use this option to add Dear Antlers, Water Buffalo Horns, Wooden Horns or Waki-Date (Flat Wooden Horns) to your kabuto.

Ring Option

Add RING and KNOT to the back of your Kabuto

Visor Option

Customize the visor of your helmet with embosed eyebrows and/or wrinkles.

Menpo Style

Select your choice of face armor available for your yoroi. Standard Menpo option will give you the mustache option, while Hoate will give you a goatee option.

Mustache Style

Add character to your armor by selecting a custom mustache option.(This option is only available with certain mask / nose styles.)

Chest Options

Select from the following options to further customize your Do (chest armor).

Dō Mon

Select the Mon (symbol) to be painted on the front of your Dō (chest plate).(Option Not Available with Suna finish)

Dō Chest Ring

Select to add 1 or 2 Chest Rings (Saihai no kan & Tenugui no kan) to your Dō, used to display tassels or hold a saihai or gunbai. (Select option from the perspective of wearing the armor)

Dō Holding Rings

Add 1 or 2 WAIST RINGS (holding rings) to either side of your Dō (chest plate), used to hold bags, tie a weapon, Gunbai and/or your Sarashi in place. We recommend adding both if you are training in your armor. (Select option from the perspective of wearing the armor)

Sizing Options

The Sizing Options for your custom samurai armor set.

Chest Size

This option changes the girth size of your Dō (chest armor). While inhaling deeply, have an assistant wrap the tape measure under your armpits around the largest part of your chest. In the back, you want the tape measure to wrap across your shoulder blades. The tape measure should be snug, but not tight.

Please Note: Sizing is for reference only and may not reflect the final product. Please read the FAQs for more details.

Please Note: It is better to select 1 size larger to accommodate under clothing.

Height Options

Adjust the armor to your Height. Standard sizing is 5' 8" (175 CM). Select the option closest to your actual height. If unsure, select 1 size smaller and enter your actual size in the order comments.

Please Note: It is better to select 1 size shorter for better fit.

Weight Options

Please specify YOUR WEIGHT for our armorers to better craft your armor for you.
Please select the option that is the closest to your weight, as this doesn't have to be completely accurate as this is for reference only.

Accessory Options

Select accessories to add to your custom samurai armor order.

Add Sarashi Belt

Add a long cloth belt / sash to your order which is required when wearing your armor.

Add Waraji Sandals

Add traditional straw sandals to your order. Great accessory to have if your planning on wearing your samurai armor set!

Description

This suit is crafted by our skilled katchû-shi (Japanese armor smith) here at Iron Mountain Armory, in honor of legendary Uesugi Kenshin – “The Dragon of Echigo”. Daimyo Uesugi Kenshin ruled the province of Echigo towards the end of the Sengoku Period during feudal Japan. He was known for his prowess in both the battlefield and in the courtroom. Kenshin earned his reputation and name of “The Dragon of Echigo” after several clashes with the legendary “Tiger of Kai”, better known as Takeda Shingen. Both may have received these names for their interest in Sun Tzu’s work “The Art of War” and their intense interest in Chinese warrior culture.

The two Daimyo would clash 5 times before Takeda would finally succeed in victory over Kenshi. Because of Uesugi Kenshin’s belief in the Buddhist god of war, his men regarded him as the Avatar of Bishamonten, calling Kenshin the “God of War.” His yoroi set comes with both dragon maedate (crest) and large Buddhist prayer beads.

Iron Mountain Armory will craft your Kachi Armor using mostly synthetic materials, traditional designs and, the implementation of more modern tools and techniques. We offer the options to change the style of the kabuto (helmet), menpo (mask) and suneate (shin guards). The standard colors of Uesugi Kenshin’s Dragon Armor are black as the primary color, with blue lacing. We offer the ability to customize it however you like – including paints, laces, material and leather in multiple colors and styles. This beautiful samurai yoroi set is also offered in both Gashira and Taisho class.

Our skilled katchû-shi (armorers) at the Iron Mountain Armory will need at least 2 to 4 weeks, depending on options selected, and other scheduled orders, for the custom handcrafting of your yoroi.

Amazing Armor
I am loving this armor. It looks amazing, a work of art – from the overall design down to the little details. The quality is fantastic. It also fit perfectly. I’d like to note that the customer service I received was great, helping walk me through getting the armor sized right.

The pictures don’t do this armor justice. The armor looks amazing and gets a “WOW” from just about everyone who steps into our waiting room. Clients stand around the armor while waiting giving us a new prestige of success.

My armor arrived today. I can not adequately express how happy I am with it. I was only able to put it on and walk around a little today and than set it up for display, but tomorrow I will be sure to give it a more thorough test. Everything seems great though from what time I spent wearing it and it looks perfect on display. I would also like to say thank you for the extra touches you did, I really appreciate it. I am very happy with everything and I will be sure to spread the word as best I can.
