Taisho Somen (So-men) is a full-faced variant Gendai reproduction of a traditional armored samurai menpo (mask). The difference between a standard menpo and a somen is a somen covers the entire face instead of just the lower portion. This taisho quality so-men features facial shiwa (wrinkles), odayori ore kugi (posts), a hana (detachable nose guard), mimi (ear covers) and tare (throat guard). This is a unique and beautiful so-men, which looks great worn or displayed with your yoroi (armor), kabuto (helmet) or on one of our display stands.
Our somen can fit your existing kabuto or looks great displayed by itself with one of our Menpo Display Stands. It can also be worn for decoration, for re-enactment, larp, or cosplay. Mengu (facial armor) also make great gift items for Budo Martial Artists and Samurai enthusiasts when displayed with one of our gallery mask stands.
