Sizing is for crafting reference only. This is for material length and may not affect the armor plate lengths.

*Padding Options

Add Padding to the inside of your Kawan Kote.

*Temper Armor Plates

Select to Heat Temper your steel armor plates to Add more toughness. Your armor will be heated to 700 degrees, making it more resilient and less likely to dent or break upon hard impacts. Best for Martial Arts Training, LARP & SCA Sports.

Description

Kawan Kote (vambrace / forearm guard) are a form of shino-gote used to protect the forearm. These are a less traditional form of kote, crafted more for Gendai budō (現代武道 ) who needed lightweight forearm protection. Kawan kote can be worn comfortably and discreetly under clothing to give some protection against edged or blunt weapon attacks. The shino (splint) plating typically protects the forearm, which is roughly 2 cm above the wrist and 6 cm below the elbow. Please reference the measuring instructions in the product window above or by clicking the ? next to the sizing option. We will do our best to craft your kawan kote to best fit your sizing.

The Kotes they crafted for me were exactly as I wanted and even have survived multiple tests I put them through and I am confident in their ability to protect me from harm due to the excellent work that samurai armor put into them I believe even honda tadakatsu himself would be envious of these kotes.
