Kabuto Crest

Select to change, customize or remove the front crest (maedate) on the helmet. You can select a standard brass mon (symbol), your own custom mon / logo or a wooden or brass design. Temper Armor Plates

Select to Heat Temper your steel armor plates to Add more toughness. Your armor will be heated to 700 degrees, making it more resilient and less likely to dent or break upon hard impacts. Best for Martial Arts Training, LARP & SCA Sports.

Select to add a yoroi bitsu (display / storage box) and portable stand to your order so you can display your samurai armor.
Yoroi Bitsu and Stand

Yoroi Bitsu Mon

Choose to add Samurai or Custom Mon (symbol) to your Yoroi Bitsu (armor box). Custom Mon's needs to be e-mailed to us in a mono-color, “Clip-Art” format.(Click through the product images to see different Standard Mon Options.)

Kabuto Options

Select these options to further customize your Kabuto (helmet).

Fukigaeshi Mon

Add a symbol (mon) to the ears (fukigaeshi) of your helmet. This can be a standard mon or custom design you can email us in "Clip-Art" format. (Click through the product images to see different Standard Mon Options.)

Horn Options

Use this option to add Dear Antlers, Water Buffalo Horns, Wooden Horns or Waki-Date (Flat Wooden Horns) to your kabuto.

Ring Option

Add RING and KNOT to the back of your Kabuto Kasa Jirushi No Kan

Visor Option

Customize the visor of your helmet with embosed eyebrows and/or wrinkles.

Menpo Style

Select your choice of face armor available for your yoroi. Standard Menpo option will give you the mustache option, while Hoate will give you a goatee option.

Mustache Style

Add character to your armor by selecting a custom mustache option.(This option is only available with certain mask / nose styles.)

Chest Options

Select from the following options to further customize your Do (chest armor).

Dō Mon

Select the Mon (symbol) to be painted on the front of your Dō (chest plate).(Option Not Available with Suna finish)

Dō Chest Ring

Select to add 1 or 2 Chest Rings (Saihai no kan & Tenugui no kan) to your Dō, used to display tassels or hold a saihai or gunbai. (Select option from the perspective of wearing the armor)

Dō Holding Rings

Add 1 or 2 WAIST RINGS (holding rings) to either side of your Dō (chest plate), used to hold bags, tie a weapon, Gunbai and/or your Sarashi in place. We recommend adding both if you are training in your armor. (Select option from the perspective of wearing the armor)

Sizing Options

The Sizing Options for your custom samurai armor set.

Chest Circumference

This option changes the girth size of your Dō (chest armor). While inhaling deeply, have an assistant wrap the tape measure under your armpits around the largest part of your chest. In the back, you want the tape measure to wrap across your shoulder blades. The tape measure should be snug, but not tight.

Please Note: Sizing is for reference only and may not reflect the final product. Please read the FAQs for more details.

Please Note: It is better to select 1 size larger to accommodate under clothing.

Waist Circumference

This option is for the waist circumference of the Dō (chest armor). 5: Place a tape measure on your navel (belly button) and straight around your waist, finishing at your navel. The tape measure should be snug, but not tight. Please Note: Sizing is for REFERENCE ONLY and may not reflect the final product. Please read the FAQs for more details.

Please Note: It is better to select 1 size larger to accommodate under clothing.

Height Options

Adjust the armor to your Height. Standard sizing is 5' 8" (175 CM). Select the option closest to your actual height. If unsure, select 1 size smaller and enter your actual size in the order comments.

Please Note: It is better to select 1 size shorter for better fit.

Weight Options

Please specify YOUR WEIGHT for our armorers to better craft your armor for you.
Please select the option that is the closest to your weight, as this doesn't have to be completely accurate as this is for reference only.

Shikoro Bottom Plate

Tare Bottom Plate

Description

This economical Kachi Class samurai armor has been crafted by our apprentice katchû-shi (Japanese armor smith) in honor of Sanada Yukimura (真田幸村, 1567 – 1615), a legendary samurai represented by his iconic Gusoku (armor set). The Sanada Clan’s famous maedate (crest) is called “Rokumonsen,” which represents the six coins believed to be needed in order to cross the river of the underworld after death. This maedate expressed how the Sanada Clan had no fear of death, making them even more fearsome in battle. As a Taisho of the Sanada Clan, Yukimura brought great honor to his family name. He was known not only as a fierce warrior but an excellent military tactician. His reputation was well earned after he emerged victorious in many battles, even when vastly outnumbered. His fame grew notably after organizing and leading a successful defense during the Siege of Osaka. The legends call him “Crimson Demon of War” and “The Last Sengoku Hero”.

The antlers on Sanada’s helmet (made from synthetic materials for Kachi Class), personify his unique abilities for defense and attack. The standard color for this armor set is a vermilion or crimson color, sometimes with a suna (sand) finish. Iron Mountain Armory is happy to honor your request to paint this handsome gusoku in any color or finish you would prefer, as well as use the odoshi (lace) color of your choice. Our katchû-shi are also happy to craft your yoroi with a different style of helmet, menpo (face mask) and/or suneate (shin guards), to make your samurai armor more customized to your unique preferences. More options are available through the drop down menus. This samurai armor set is also available in Gashira and Taisho Class.

I saw armor that looked exactly like this while in Japan but the price with shipping and taxes was just too expensive. Even if you actually buy it On-Line from Japan, the retail price there is more expensive. A few months after returning from Japan I still wanted a suit of armor but I just couldn’t bring myself to paying over $3K for a basic suit of armor.

We all know that to get the “real” samurai armor you have to get it from Japan, but I decided to take a chance. After contacting a few websites I determined this is the website everyone else buys from and the pictures looked just like the actual suits did in the store in Japan. Now Japan take 4 to 6 weeks for delivery and these guys promised and delivered in just 17 days with my custom size!

I bought the SAME EXACT armor I fell in love with in Japan at 1/3 the price! The detail, feel and fit is perfect; I am so impressed!! These guys are THE REAL DEAL!!

100% recommend this company for your historical Bushido Samurai armor needs. The attention to detail and quality of manufacture is unprecedented for a hand crafted item. As a military historian, I have had an opportunity to inspect many original suits of Japanese armor, and the comparison is very authentic in terms of construction. Please keep in mind that even with high quality control, these are hand crafted items, so there is no such thing as “perfect”, but for the cost, they exceed even many Japanese suits of armor, and this is completely ready for combat. I would strongly urge buyers to purchase at minimum of the Gashira level of quality, and there is a significant different of upgrade of materials and construction. I was also very impressed with the customer service and speed of construction. My Gashira set only took about 6 weeks until arrival.
