Our Gashira Class Suneate (shin guards) are one of the three Sangu, principle parts of the armor, that protected the extremities of the samurai of Feudal Japan. These shin guards tie comfortably around the calf, providing protection for the samurai warrior. There were several common styles, five of which have been replicated in Gashira Class quality for the modern warrior:
O-Tateage no Suneate (Heavy) – crafted from a single plate, laced or riveted with a large standing plate “cup like” for protecting the knee.
