Descended from Fujiwara Sumitomo, the Arima Clan was established in the 12th Century by Arima Tsunezumi. The Arima, whose name means “has horse,” were first known for their Calvary. They grew even stronger with the arrival of the Portuguese. Being heavily influenced by Christian missionaries, and as a result of this “Christianization”, the Arima Clan received supplies and weapons from the Portuguese. The final result was a clan which had strength and technological advantages. They would play a small but interracial part in the final unification of Japan by siding with Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
This particular samurai suit features Kiritsuke Iyozane (simulated scale) sode (shoulder guards) and kusazari (defensive skirt plating). Our apprentice katchû-shi (Japanese armor smith) at Iron Mountain Armory has carefully crafted this reproduction kachi samurai armor set in honor of the Arima Clan. They preferred to use a crimson “suna” paint, with black odoshi (or lacing) as pictured, to show the wealth of their clan.
Features: Kachi Class.
- Variation of paint, nylon odoshi colors and features
- Full sized and fully functional
- Custom sizing available
Our skilled katchû-shi (armorers) at the Iron Mountain Armory will need at least 2 to 4 weeks, depending on options selected, and other scheduled orders, for the custom handcrafting of your yoroi. |

I purchased this armor in vermillion red, gashira option to be the center piece in our Japanese decorated home. For the price it is an amazing piece of functional art. We had it on the display box and now just purchased a mannequin which make the armor look even better. The armor is wearable as well. Although I would not wear it for martial arts purposes I will wear it for special events. I am very proud to have this beautiful reproduction samurai armor on display in my home and will pass it to my son when the time comes.
I am in love with my new armor. It looks amazing!
the stitching on the arms are weak and easily break
This is an economical suit made to a lower standard which is explained in the quality details. It offers only basic stitching on the lace because the lace needs to be adjusted by the user.
Thank you for your comment. Kachi quality is a very basic quality and as noted, may have some flaws or defects in craftsmanship. If you ever have any issues, please contact us so we may assist you with them.
The armor is gorgeous, the color is perfect, exactly like it’s shown in the picture sample. My only complaint is the non detachable nose from the menpo, but not a big deal being this a Kachi class, and i can always get another one!
