Okegawa Ni-Mai Gusoku is the most common style armor set crafted in the late Sengoku era (Warring State). Categorized as tosei meaning “modern” (with relation to the era, being post 1500 A.D.) This style of armor featured ito-mono (long strips of steel plates) which are overlapped and riveted or laced together horizontally. This made crafting samurai armor much faster and more economical than the previous hon-kozane (true scale) armor which consisted of hundreds of scale plates all laced together. This is the basic armor design for most of the samurai armor sets we offer. This Daimyo class Okegawa Ni-mai Gusoku is crafted by our senior katchû-shi (Japanese armor smith), at the Iron Mountain Armory using a mixture of traditional design with some modern materials to give a more regal look reserved for Daimyo. The technical name for this style of armor is “Tosei Yokohagi Okegawa Ni-Mai Do,” which loosely translates to a “Modern” Two Section Cuirass with Horizontal Plating Joined by a Pin Hinge.
Now you can purchase your own Daimyo class Samurai Yoroi with the same options a Daimyo had. The options are pre-set to order the armor as shown or you may change the options to make this iconic armor more custom for you. The katchu-shi of Iron Mountain Armory are always honored to craft such a high quality samurai armor set for our esteemed clients. The suit is “As Shown” with a hachi goshozan kabuto, but you can request your kabuto to be a zunari (head shaped) or the more modern momonari kabuto (peach shaped helmet). There are many other options which will make this samurai armor set more unique to you.
