This prominent Gashira Class Sanada Clan Samurai Armor has been crafted by our skilled katchû-shi (Japanese armor smith) in honor of the legendary Sanada Clan (真田). The clan served the Takeda Clan and will forever hold a place in Japanese history thanks to (Sanada Yukimura, 1567 – 1615). Legends call him the “Crimson Demon of War” and “The Last Sengoku Hero”.
The Sanada Clan’s famous maedate (crest) is called “Rokumonsen” which represents the six coins believed to be needed to cross the river of the underworld. It was a mon which showed that they were fearsome in battle and had no fear of death. Known as fierce warriors and excellent military tacticians. The clan was faithful to the Takeda Clan up until the final unification of Japan by Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Our Gashira katchû-shi will carefully craft this particular Gendai yoroi with great care, making nami plating (wave pattern) on the sode and kusazuri. This samurai yoroi also features traditional Byo-toji Yokohagi Okegawa Do raised rivets, and byo-toji zunari hachi kabuto (zunari bowl helmet with decorative raised rivets). Our katchû-shi are happy to offer their services to custom size your yoroi, or make any requested modifications.
