The Okegawa Iro-Iro Gashira Gusoku is a “multi-colored” samurai armor set is crafted by our skilled katchû-shi (Japanese armor smith) here at Iron Mountain Armory. This suit of many colors gained popularity towards the end of the Sengoku Era. It was a time when the samurai were beginning to shake off more traditional paint schemes in favor of something more elaborate and unique.
Crafted with a traditional “Tosei Byo-toji Yokohagi Okegawa Do” (two section cuirass with riveted horizontal plating joined by a pin hinge). This suit of samurai armor features Kiritsuke Iyozane (simulated scale) sode (shoulder guard) and kusazuri (defensive skirt plating). As well as paint and lace options, we also offer the ability to change the helmet, mask and shin armor styles to other traditional designs, via the Extra Options section.
This suit’s default color scheme is three shades of textured Suna Paint: Black Suna, for the Main Paint, Brown Suna for the Second Paint, and Crimson Suna for the Bottom Plate. It can be crafted with different paint options upon your request. Please specify in the options what colors you would like. We will honor these selections when the suit is crafted.
